Olle Eksell

As of this fall, Japanese graphic design publisher Pie Books is now distributed in North America by Random House (via Rizzoli New York). One of the first new titles to be made available over here was a lovely volume dedicated to the work of Swedish graphic designer Olle Eksell. I had never heard of him before seeing this book in the publisher’s catalogue several months ago, but the cover image alone was enough to convince me to go ahead and order it.

And inside the book there are lots of  books that he designed back in the day, such as these

as well as many other charming illustrations like these.
